Provider of aerospace engine aftermarket services StandardAero has entered into a non-exclusive agreement with Turkey-based Corendon Airlines to provide CFM LEAP-1B engine services for the carrier’s Boeing 737 MAX 8 fleet.

This agreement places Corendon Airlines among a growing number of airlines choosing StandardAero’s LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B MRO capabilities at its San Antonio, Texas facility.

Corendon Airlines’ first LEAP-1B engine has already been inducted for a Continued Time Engine Maintenance (CTEM) shop visit. Alongside its MAX fleet, the airline also operates Boeing 737-800s powered by CFM56-7B engines, further expanding its ongoing partnership with StandardAero, which already services these engines.

Will Pitcher, senior vice president of sales, marketing, and customers for StandardAero’s airlines and fleets division, said: “StandardAero is proud to have been entrusted by Corendon Airlines to provide LEAP-1B MRO services, adding Turkey to our growing list of LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B customer nations.

“We value the confidence shown by Corendon in our San Antonio-based LEAP team, and look forward to meeting the service expectations of Corendon and its passengers for many years to come.”

StandardAero recently achieved LEAP-1B correlation approval for the first test cell at its San Antonio test facility.

Along with its MRO capabilities, the company is industrialising new component repairs for the LEAP engine family through its Component Repair Services (CRS) division, with over 230 LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B repairs already developed.

Additionally, StandardAero continues to expand its LEAP technician workforce through its in-house Aviation Mechanic Training Program, located at its San Antonio Training Academy.

Corendon Airlines serves 165 airports across 65 countries, transporting approximately four million passengers annually with its fleet of Boeing 737-800 and 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
