Recaro Aircraft Seating has marked Scandinavian Airlines’ (SAS) 80th anniversary by creating 80 customised Gaming Nxt chairs exclusively for the carrier’s employees.
Each limited-edition chair represents a year of SAS history and forms part of the airline’s wider anniversary celebrations. Founded in 1946, SAS is commemorating eight decades of connecting Scandinavia with the world through a range of employee-focused activities and merchandise.
The chairs feature a bespoke SAS-inspired design, including the airline’s signature blue seat fabric, an embroidered SAS logo on the headrest, and additional branding on the rear of the seat.
The chairs combine ergonomic design, advanced adjustment options and upholstery intended to provide long-lasting comfort.
Dr Mark Hiller, CEO of Recaro, said the initiative celebrates both SAS’s milestone and the long-standing partnership between the two companies, adding that RECARO looks forward to continuing its collaboration with the airline “to elevate the passenger experience together”.
