'Seamless Journey' debut for Crystal Cabin at APEX

The Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) and the Crystal Cabin Award have launched a new award category aimed at recognising innovations that link the aircraft cabin with the wider passenger journey. The new Seamless Journey award will acknowledge products, services and concepts that connect onboard experiences with airport, ground transport and digital touchpoints before and after a flight.

The award will be presented at APEX FTE EXPO 2026 in Singapore on 19 November. According to the organisers, entries may include cabin technologies, connected services, digital platforms and end-to-end journey concepts developed through collaboration between airlines, airports, manufacturers and technology providers.

The initiative marks the Crystal Cabin Award's first dedicated programme in Asia and reflects a growing industry focus on integrating the cabin experience with the broader travel ecosystem. Submissions are open until 30 September 2026.

“Over the past two decades, the Crystal Cabin Award has established a global platform for innovations that transform the aircraft cabin. With ‘Seamless Journey’, we are deliberately broadening that perspective,” explained Angela Wockert, Project Manager of the Crystal Cabin Award.

“The new award extends our eight established categories by recognizing solutions that connect the cabin with the airport, ground services and the many touchpoints before and after a flight. APEX is the ideal partner for this initiative: its global community represents the full spectrum of the passenger experience. Together, we can give cross-sector ideas and collaborations the international platform they deserve.”
