Low-cost, long-haul carrier Zipair Tokyo is to install the Axinom Stream system to power its modern onboard streaming platform as part of its in-flight entertainment (IFE) offering. The product enables DRM-protected Hollywood content delivery to passengers’ personal devices.
Takuya Matsuo, CMO and Executive Officer at Zipair said: “Axinom’s flexible, API-driven platform allows us to integrate seamlessly with our passenger experience portal while ensuring full compliance with Hollywood studio requirements.”

The deployment includes content management and media processing workflows aligned with studio specifications, over-the-air synchronisation, and an onboard software stack with messaging capabilities. Fleet management functions allow ground-based control of content assignments, leg-based targeting, and content distribution across the airline’s growing fleet.
A key differentiator of the project has been the close collaboration between the airline’s in-house IT team and Axinom’s specialists. Zipair maintains ownership of the passenger-facing experience, integrating Axinom’s Player SDK and APIs into its digital ecosystem.
Zipair has the ability to stream content as it’s aircraft are equipped with Starlink connectivity.
