ULD specialist Jettainer has appointed Moritz Köhler as chief operating officer, placing him in charge of the company's newly restructured operations division as it looks to strengthen global fleet management and accelerate the digitalisation of its operations.

Köhler will oversee Jettainer's worldwide network of ULD Control Desks and repair partners, with responsibility for strategic fleet management and operational performance.

His remit also includes advancing data-driven decision-making, improving ULD availability and strengthening the resilience of the company's global operations.

He joins Jettainer after around 18 years at Lufthansa Cargo, where he held a range of leadership positions spanning commercial management, market development and digital transformation. Most recently, he led the implementation of the International Air Transport Association's (IATA) ONE Record data standard.

Dr Jan-Wilhelm Breithaupt, chief executive officer of Jettainer, said: "With his extensive experience, Moritz Köhler combines deep airline expertise with a strong understanding of operational excellence and digital transformation.

"He will play a key role in the strategic development of Jettainer's operational organisation and help shape our continued growth."

Köhler added: "Together with our global teams, I look forward to continuously enhancing our operational processes and making even greater use of digitalisation and data-driven decision-making to further increase the efficiency of our ULD services."
