Royal Air Maroc Cargo now connects Casablanca and Los Angeles

Royal Air Maroc Cargo has expanded its North American network with a new thrice-weekly service between Casablanca and Los Angeles, providing the only direct air connection between Africa and the US West Coast operated by an African carrier.

The service, which launched on June 7 2026, is operated by Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft and offers belly-cargo capacity between Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport.

Combined with Royal Air Maroc Cargo’s Casablanca–Beijing service, launched in early 2025, the new route creates a cargo corridor connecting Los Angeles with Beijing via the carrier’s Casablanca hub.

The airline said the service will support a diverse range of cargo flows, including artisan products, textiles and perishables moving from Morocco and other African markets into the US.

Electronics, e-commerce shipments and industrial products are also expected to be transported from China and other Asian markets through Casablanca to Los Angeles.

Royal Air Maroc Cargo said the route strengthens its position in North America, one of its most important cargo markets, while creating opportunities in high-value and e-commerce supply chains and improving connectivity on Africa–US West Coast and Africa–Asia trade lanes.

Rita Chraibi, vice-president cargo at Royal Air Maroc, said: “The launch of this Los Angeles service marks a significant milestone in our strategy to connect key international markets via our hub in Casablanca and further facilitate global trade connections.

“By linking the US West Coast with Royal Air Maroc Cargo’s African and Asian network, our customers benefit from seamless, multi-leg connectivity, improved market access and enhanced routing options.”
