TAP Air Cargo has joined healthcare logistics association Pharma.Aero, strengthening collaboration across the pharmaceutical supply chain and reinforcing connectivity between Europe, the Americas and Africa.

As the cargo division of Portugal's flag carrier, TAP Air Cargo operates an extensive international network through its Lisbon hub, serving key pharmaceutical trade lanes and supporting the movement of time- and temperature-sensitive healthcare products.

The carrier said its dedicated pharmaceutical logistics services are designed to maintain product integrity while ensuring reliability and regulatory compliance throughout the transportation process.

Rita Rosário Garcia, director of products and services at TAP Air Cargo, said: “By working together with industry partners within Pharma.Aero, we aim to share specialist knowledge, support the development of best practices and further strengthen the reliability, transparency and resilience of end-to-end pharmaceutical supply chains worldwide."

The membership comes as the air cargo industry places increasing emphasis on supply chain resilience, visibility and operational coordination, particularly within the life sciences and healthcare sectors.

Pharma.Aero said TAP Air Cargo's international network and pharmaceutical logistics expertise would support its efforts to advance best practices and strengthen end-to-end life science and medical technology supply chains through greater cross-industry collaboration.

By joining the association, TAP Air Cargo becomes part of a global network that includes pharmaceutical manufacturers, airports, airlines, logistics providers and technology partners. Members work together to address healthcare supply chain challenges through innovation, knowledge sharing and closer operational alignment.

The move further expands Pharma.Aero’s collaborative ecosystem as the organisation continues to bring together stakeholders from across the healthcare logistics sector to improve the efficiency and resilience of global pharmaceutical supply chains.
