In November, Ryanair plans to make all paper boarding passes obsolete.
This doesn’t just mean the one issued by the check-in desk (which in any case has long been a rare and expensive commodity for most low-cost carriers), but printed boarding passes will also no longer be accepted.
I’m not entirely sure how this will be enforceable. If a passenger has a printout, will the airline really deny boarding and allow paying customers to be stranded airside even though they are presumably in possession of a passport or other government issued ID? Knowing Ryanair, yes, probably.
