Bombardier reaches landmark 1,000th super-midsize jet delivery
Canadian aircraft manufacturer, Bombardier, has celebrated a major milestone in business aviation with the delivery of its 1,000th super-midsize business jet, a Challenger 3500.
The Challenger was the most delivered aircraft in its segment in 2024, and since the original model was introduced into circulation two decades ago it has earned a reputation for reliability and having standout performance as the best-selling jet in its class.
“Challenger super-midsize aircraft have been a game changer in the industry as they defined a new business jet segment, and we are excited to continue building on this legacy,” said Éric Martel, president and chief executive of Bombardier.
The newest model of the aircraft features a state-of-the art cabin, the lowest operating costs for jets of its kind, and is responsible for industry firsts like the voice-controlled cabin.
The plane also carries Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) as do the rest of Bombardier’s in-product aircraft, but it remains the only business jet manufacturer to receive the certification for its aircraft.
The celebration took place at Bombardier’s Challenger delivery centre in Montréal, where it handed the ceremonial keys to the jet to JM Family enterprise, an automotive company and long-time customer of Bombardier. Also, in attendance at the event were more than 700 Bombardier employees and guests.
Martel continued: “Reaching the delivery of our 1,000th super-midsize aircraft marks a defining moment for Bombardier. This milestone is a testament to the dedication and exceptional talent of our employees, as well as the trust and loyalty of our customers around the world.”
