Machinists vote to end Boeing strike

Unions have voted to end the strike at Boeing, with striking workers returning to their shifts from today (November 6).

On Monday, IAM District 751 and W24 Machinists voted by 59% to accept a proposal to raise salary by 38% over a period of four years.

The strike has been costly for the already embattled Boeing, which was unable to produce any 737 aircraft during the action. The company recorded a third-quarter loss of $6.1bn.

A statement to members from the IAM read: “Workers can return to work as early as first shift on Wednesday, November 6 2024 for those members who want to return as quickly as possible. You must return to work by the beginning of your shift on Tuesday November 12.”

“The strike has ended”.
