Menzies Aviation, service partner to airports and airlines worldwide, has reached its goal of 25% of women in senior leadership roles ahead of International Women’s Day (March 8), in line with the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) 25by2025 campaign.

Julia Thomson, chief people officer at Menzies Aviation, said: “At Menzies Aviation, we understand that diverse leadership drives innovation, enhances decision-making and strengthens company culture. Achieving 25% representation of women in our senior leadership community is an important step, but we recognise there is more work to be done.”

This milestone reaffirms Menzies Aviation’s commitment to advancing gender diversity and inclusion in the aviation industry, an achievement made possible in part by its concerted effort to focus succession planning on diversity, strong leadership role models, and employee engagement.

Menzies Aviation is also a signatory of the United Nation’s (UN) Women’s Empowerment Principles, and since 2022 has run the Thrive, Women in Leadership training programme to support members in their professional and personal development. Currently, more than 125 people have completed the programme.

Menzies Aviation has also made progress with its goal of getting 40% of women in mid-level leadership roles, reaching 29% across its global business before the 2023 target year, as part of its All In sustainability strategy.

Thomson added: “Diversity is not just a goal, it is a business imperative, and by continuing to break barriers, we can create a future where leadership truly reflects the diversity of our workforce and the communities we operate in. We remain committed to advancing gender equity and building an even more inclusive workplace for all.”
