Saudia Cargo, the Saudi Arabian airfreight flag carrier, has reported a 64% increase in its date exports in comparison to 2023, shipping approximately 1.5 million kilograms to more than 45 locations worldwide.
The cargo carrier has a destination network of around 100 airports and 250 customers across four continents, and ships dates sourced from Saudi farms across the Kingdom, including Al Ahsa, Riyadh, Qassim, and Madinah.
Dates are a symbol of generosity and hospitality in Saudi culture, and with an annual output of over 1.6 million tonnes, Saudi Arabia is the largest date producer in the world, recognised internationally for having high quality and heritage.
Saudia Cargo uses cold chain technologies to ensure that date quality is maintained on the export journey and leverages its network across Europe, Asia and North America to facilitate faster transit times.
This allows local exporters to deliver their products into the global market more efficiently with preserved quality, making Saudi dates more competitive in the sector.
