WCC Aviation Holdings has signed an agreement to acquire a 30% equity stake in Philippine aviation services group PhilJets Aero Services, expanding its activities into aircraft maintenance, charter operations and technical support.
The investment brings together WCC Aviation Holdings' aviation education and training capabilities with PhilJets’ operational and technical expertise, with a particular focus on developing Filipino aviation talent and strengthening career pathways.
WCC Aviation Holdings operates WCC Aeronautical & Technological College (WCC ATC), WCC Pilot Academy and Sky Pasada, covering aviation education, pilot training and airline operations.
PhilJets provides fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft services, including aircraft management, charter operations, maintenance, avionics, engine and airframe support, alongside flight dispatch and ground handling.
The agreement builds on a relationship between the two organisations spanning approximately a decade.
Developing aviation careers
A key focus of the partnership will be connecting classroom education with practical industry experience, helping students and graduates develop the technical skills required for aviation careers.
PhilJets has already provided hands-on experience to more than 300 participants through its on-the-job training and management training programmes.
Former trainees have subsequently secured positions with organisations including Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines and Lufthansa Technik, while others have pursued careers across Asia, the Middle East and North America.
The two groups intend to explore further opportunities for student placements, professional mentorship, practical training and employment pathways, particularly in aircraft maintenance, flight planning, dispatch, safety and technical operations.
Dr Raymond Patrick V. Guico, president of WCC Aviation Holdings, said: “Our vision is to connect the full journey, from educating aviation professionals and training pilots to serving passengers and growing aviation businesses.
“With WCC ATC, Pilot Academy and Sky Pasada, we have built a foundation across education and operations. This investment in PhilJets advances that vision, creating opportunities for our businesses to grow and for Filipino aviation talent to move forward.”
Thierry Tea, founder and chairman of PhilJets, said the partnership would help strengthen the Philippine aviation ecosystem through greater emphasis on safety, quality and innovation.
The companies will also explore opportunities to align aviation training more closely with operational requirements, supporting workforce development and future growth across the Philippines and wider ASEAN aviation market.
