Arcus Infrastructure Partners has completed a deal to acquire approximately 74% of regional lessor TrueNoord. 

The value of the transaction has not been announced. 

Founding investor Freshstream has re-invested to retain the remaining 26%. 

Data from IBA Insight shows the lessor has 96 aircraft in service, with 50 more optioned or on order, while a further nine are parked or stored. The fleet consists of Airbus, Embraer, ATR and De Havilland Canada aircraft. 

Welcoming the deal, Edward Lilley, Senior Investment Director at Arcus and Asset Manager of TrueNoord, commented: "Regional aircraft play a critical role worldwide, both economically and socially. Given the robust performance of the global aviation industry and the long-term, contracted nature of the business, aircraft leasing is widely recognised as a high-quality, core infrastructure asset class."

Roughly half of the world's regional aircraft are leased, according to CAPA Centre for Aviation, with leasing penetration around 58% for regional jets and about 45% for turboprops.
