WAF 2026: PROS sets out to reduce burden of manual processes with launch of Kairos

A new agentic modern airline retailing platform developed to reduce the burden of manual processes was unveiled at World Aviation Festival in Lisbon last week.

Commercial intelligence tech provider PROS unveiled Kairos that uses AI to bring the firm’s pricing science and airline data into a single workspace for airline retailing.

PROS has worked with Databricks, a developer of a data and AI platform that is providing the technical infrastructure for Kairos.

The new platform combines intelligent workflows, a conversational user experience, and a unified data foundation powered by Databricks,

PROS said Kairos provides airlines “with access to data, insights and automation with fewer manual steps between applications”.

Sunil John, chief executive of PROS, said: "For decades, airline commercial systems evolved slowly.

“Today, constantly shifting technology and global conditions can change within days, and standing still is no longer the cautious choice; it is the higher-risk one.

“We built PROS Kairos around that reality. Airlines need the flexibility to add capabilities quickly without being forced to choose between a fully custom build and a multi-year commitment to a single closed suite.”

The launch of Kairos follows PROS' decision to focus exclusively on travel retailing and builds on more than 40 years of revenue management and pricing innovation.

Key features of the PROS Kairos platform include:

  • One platform, one workspace - Analysts access data, workflows and insights through a single platform experience, without switching between multiple applications.
  • Same platform, different work - PROS Kairos tailors each workspace based on user role, permissions and responsibilities, providing access to the data, actions and workflows relevant to each analyst, particularly to PROS Product Management tools, Product Catalogue and Stock Keeper.
  • Personalised from the start - PROS Kairos saves user preferences and workspace settings, enabling a consistent and configurable experience across sessions.
  • Fewer manual steps - A conversational, agentic interface lets analysts access information, insights and platform capabilities using natural language.
  • Open architecture, less integration complexity — Analysts interact with a single platform agent while the PROS Agent Orchestrator is designed to coordinate specialized agents through open-source Model Context Protocol (MCP) connections, reducing integration complexity across airline commerce workflows.

Shiv Trisal, global industrials and energy go-to-market leader at Databricks, said: "To realise the full potential of modern airline retailing, the industry must move toward agentic workflows.

“However, AI agents are starved for context if they only look at siloed transactional systems.

“Anchoring PROS Kairos on Databricks provides the critical shared intelligence layer. It allows airlines to unify vast, disparate data sources so their agents have the deep context necessary to make intelligent, profitable decisions in real time.”

With Databricks PROS Kairos is able to provide airlines with a governed, open approach to connecting market, behavioural and operational data without requiring migration to a single platform.

This gives AI agents the enterprise context they need to reason across data while helping airlines maintain control and choice across their data and AI environments.

Intelligence developed once can be reused across the Kairos platform architecture, creating a foundation for future innovation and new capabilities regardless of where data resides.
