Wizz Air has signed a commercial distribution agreement with Amadeus to make its flight inventory, fare bundles, and ancillary products available across the Amadeus Travel Platform for the first time, deploying the Amadeus Ticketless Access (ATLA) solution to target corporate buyers and indirect booking channels in selected markets.
The technical integration enables travel management companies, online travel agencies, tour operators, and traditional travel agencies to search and book W6 inventory directly through existing Amadeus booking workflows.
By bypassing conventional global distribution system ticketing structures via the ATLA framework, the ultra-low-cost carrier maintains its ticketless operational architecture while expanding indirect commercial distribution.
Silvia Mosquera, marketing and revenue officer at Wizz Air, said the airline is “constantly looking for new ways to make our extensive network and affordable fares more accessible to travelers”.
"As Wizz Air continues to grow, we are Making our content available for the first time through the Amadeus Travel Platform will enable Amadeus’ extensive network of travel sellers to access our fares and ancillaries, further improving the accessibility of our offers. We are delighted to take this step together with Amadeus and look forward to the opportunities this partnership will bring to the travel ecosystem,” she said.
The partnership marks a shift in commercial distribution strategy for Wizz Air, which has historically relied predominantly on direct web and mobile channels to maintain minimum unit distribution costs.
The integration provides the carrier with access to managed corporate travel budgets and higher-yielding business passengers, segments that typically generate higher ancillary conversion rates and stronger forward bookings.
Elena Avila, executive vice president, travel distribution, Amadeus, said that travel agencies "increasingly need access to a broader range of airline content through the workflows they use every day”.
“The addition of Wizz Air content to the Amadeus Travel Platform expands choice for travel sellers, simplifies access to content in a fragmented distribution landscape, and supports Wizz Air’s ambition to grow its indirect distribution strategy. It reinforces our commitment to an open and diverse airline distribution ecosystem and reflects how Amadeus helps connect the travel industry in ways that create value for airlines, travel sellers and travelers alike," she said.
The roll-out of Wizz Air inventory across the platform will proceed on a phased basis in selected geographic markets, with the airline targeting incremental passenger volume across its European network without restructuring its underlying settlement and IT infrastructure.
