Air India has selected Swiss-AS to provide digital solutions supporting the expansion of its MRO operations, including its new facility under development in Bengaluru.
The agreement covers the implementation of AMOSmro and the AMOS CROM (Component Repair, Overhaul and Manufacture) module.
The solutions will extend Air India's existing AMOS Airline Edition deployment, creating an integrated platform to manage commercial and maintenance activities across its expanding MRO business.
The investment forms part of Air India's strategy to develop its engineering and maintenance capabilities, supporting both the Air India Group's fleet requirements and the growth of third-party MRO services.
AMOSmro combines maintenance management capabilities with commercial functions, including customer enquiries, quotations, contracts, production planning, financial processes and billing.
By bringing these activities together, the platform will enable Air India's MRO teams to manage maintenance projects from initial customer requests through planning, execution and completion.
The AMOS CROM module will provide additional capabilities for component maintenance, covering processes such as component induction, work scope definition, repair, materials coordination and release back to service.
Together, the solutions are intended to improve resource planning, operational coordination and visibility across maintenance activities, while providing a scalable digital infrastructure as Air India's MRO operations expand.
S. K. Dash, chief strategy officer - engineering at Air India, said: “The agreement on AMOSmro is an important step in Air India's journey towards building a world-class MRO ecosystem. The AMOSmro solution will play a key role in enabling integrated maintenance planning and execution, material and inventory management, maintenance records, compliance, and operational control across the facility. It will also help us build a scalable, data-driven MRO operation designed to meet Air India's needs.
"Our partnership with Swiss-AS reflects our commitment to combining strong engineering processes with leading aviation technology. As we build the next generation of Air India's engineering and MRO ecosystem, digital capability will be as important as physical infrastructure, people and processes."
The implementation will also provide a common framework for managing customer requirements and maintenance workflows, helping Air India coordinate resources and materials while offering greater visibility to third-party MRO customers.
Pierluigi Calù, vice president, digital tech ops ecosystem Asia-Pacific at Swiss-AS, said: "Air India is a strategically important partner, and the adoption of AMOSmro and AMOS CROM marks a significant milestone in its growth journey. We are proud to support Air India with a proven digital platform that will enable operational excellence, scalable expansion and world-class service delivery as it develops into a leading commercial MRO provider in the region."
