GKN Aerospace has announced a 57,000 sq. ft. expansion of its North Charlestown facility, tripling its current size and introducing a production cell dedicated to high-performance compressor blades and vanes.

The aerospace technology and manufacturing firm said the $16 million investment reflects its commitment to meeting growing market demand for complex aero-engine components.

The upgraded facility will support the company’s current production and future engine platform opportunities. The company is also strategically insourcing key manufacturing processes to enhance production agility.

The expansion creates strong operational synergies with GKN Aerospace’s Muncie, Indiana site, where advanced forging capabilities complement North Charlestown’s precision machining expertise, providing customers with an integrated solution for critical engine components.

The investment will generate new skilled jobs in the region, strengthening GKN Aerospace’s US manufacturing footprint while contributing to local economic development.
