Aviation asset trading and material management company EirTrade Aviation has secured three new regulatory approvals for its facility at Ireland West Airport Knock, extending its ability to support aircraft maintenance, transitions, parking and storage.
The company has been authorised by the Bailiwick of Guernsey (2-REG), Civil Aviation Authority of the Cayman Islands (CAACI) and Bermuda Civil Aviation Authority (BCAA).
The approvals allow EirTrade Aviation to provide services for aircraft registered with the three authorities, broadening the facility's offering to airline and aircraft lessor customers.
Jim Maguinness, quality manager at EirTrade Aviation, said: “Having added A320neo (PW1100) and A330 aircraft to our EASA Part-145 capabilities in 2025, we were looking to see how we could further extend and improve the line maintenance services we offer to airline and aircraft lessor customers.
“We observed that some leasing companies and operators were using Bailiwick of Guernsey (2-REG), Civil Aviation Authority of the Cayman Islands CAACI (VP-C) and Bermuda Civil Aviation Authority BCAA (VP-B) for operations, transitions, parking and storage - this presented an excellent opportunity for us to expand our capabilities to further support their requirements.”
EirTrade Aviation's compliance monitoring and safety management team subsequently prepared the required MOE supplements, documentation and forms, alongside staff training and authorisations for certifying staff.
Following desktop and on-site audits, EirTrade Aviation Maintenance secured all three approvals.
Maguinness said the expanded capabilities have already generated new business for the company.
“The potential opportunities were realised immediately,” he said. “We welcomed two aircraft into parking and storage programmes - one is 2-REG and the second is Cayman Reg. Both are new customers for EirTrade Aviation Maintenance Limited.”
The EASA IE.145.092, 2-REG.145.587, CAY-AMO-061347 and BDA/AMO/913 approvals cover line maintenance, parking, storage and return-to-service at the Ireland West Airport Knock facility.
Aircraft covered include the A320 family powered by CFM56 and V2500 engines; A320neo aircraft with PW1100 and LEAP-1A engines; the A330 series; Boeing 737NG aircraft powered by CFM56 engines; and 737 MAX aircraft equipped with LEAP-1B engines.
Lee Carey, chief investment officer at EirTrade Aviation, said the additional approvals form part of the company's wider plans to develop its Knock operation.
