Ontic has acquired Wichita-based Aero-Mach Companies, expanding its US presence and adding specialist manufacturing, MRO and aviation parts distribution capabilities.

Aero-Mach comprises three specialist businesses - Aero-Mach Labs, Aero-Mach Wilco and Aero-Mach TCO - and has more than 50 years of experience in the aerospace sector.

Aero-Mach Labs provides aerospace manufacturing, technical services and repair and overhaul capabilities, while Aero-Mach Wilco distributes aviation parts and products.

Aero-Mach TCO designs and manufactures aircraft static dischargers for piston and turbine aircraft.

Ontic said the acquisition complements its existing expertise in transitioning established aerospace product lines from OEMs and providing long-term support.

“Aero-Mach is a great fit for Ontic,” said JC Gallagher, chief executive of Ontic. “It has an excellent reputation, specialist capabilities and strong relationships with customers across the aviation industry.

“By bringing Aero-Mach into Ontic, we can build on those strengths while providing the investment, scale and global reach to support its continued growth.”

The deal also brings Aero-Mach’s Wichita facility and existing workforce into Ontic’s US network, taking the company’s global site count to 11.

Jeff Carnley, chief executive of Aero-Mach, described the acquisition as “an exciting next step”, adding that becoming part of Ontic would provide opportunities to invest in the company’s capabilities and support further growth.

Jason White, general manager of Aero-Mach, said customers would continue to work with the existing Aero-Mach team.

“For our customers, it’s business as usual,” he said. “They’ll continue to work with the same Aero-Mach team and receive the same quality, service and support they know today. What changes is the global scale, investment and expertise we now have behind us as part of Ontic.”
