SolitAir launches its first Kyrgyzstan cargo charter

SolitAir has operated its first charter cargo service between Dubai World Central (DWC) and Bishkek's Manas International Airport (BSZ), marking the carrier's entry into Kyrgyzstan.

Kyrgyzstan becomes the UAE-based cargo airline's second Central Asian destination country, joining Kazakhstan, where it serves Almaty and Astana.

The addition takes SolitAir's network to 58 destinations across 36 countries in Asia, Africa and Europe.

The carrier said the new charter service provides freight forwarders and shippers with a direct air cargo link between the Gulf and Kyrgyzstan as trade between the Gulf and Central Asian markets continues to grow.

Manas International Airport serves as a logistics gateway for landlocked Central Asia, while Kyrgyzstan's position along the historic Silk Road corridor gives it strategic importance for regional trade.

SolitAir said the expansion reflects its strategy of developing capacity on commercially important but underserved trade routes.

Hamdi Osman, founder and chief executive of SolitAir, said: “Bishkek is exactly the kind of route we set out to fly - a market that matters commercially but has long been underserved by direct air cargo capacity.

“Extending into Kyrgyzstan gives our customers a new gateway into Central Asia, and it's another proof point that our network grows where the trade lanes need us, not where it's easiest to fly. Our plan to develop a network of more than 50 cities by 2027 remains on course.”

SolitAir operates seven Boeing 737-800 BCF freighters, each offering 20 tonnes of cargo capacity, from its 17,327 sqm cargo hub at Dubai World Central, which has been operational since October 2024.

The airline holds a UAE GCAA Air Operator's Certificate, EASA Third Country Operator authorisation, ACC3 designation from the Belgian Civil Aviation Authority and UK CAA TCO certification.

SolitAir is targeting a fleet of 20 aircraft by the end of 2027.
