Qatar Airways has also completed the installation of Starlink on its Boeing 787-8 fleet, bringing the total number of Starlink-equipped widebody aircraft in its fleet to 150.

The carrier has also become the first airline to operate Boeing 787-9 aircraft equipped with Starlink satellite internet.

The airline says it is on schedule to complete Starlink installation across all Boeing 787 aircraft by the end of 2026. This follows earlier rollouts on its Boeing 777 and Airbus A350 fleets.

According to Qatar Airways, more than 83% of its widebody Starlink installation programme has now been completed. The airline operates up to 323 Starlink-enabled flights per day and offers the service free of charge on eligible flights.

Since introducing Starlink connectivity in October 2024, Qatar Airways says more than 23 million passengers have used the service across more than 86,000 flights. The system provides internet speeds of up to 500 Mbps and is available on many long-haul and ultra-long-haul routes across its global network.

Qatar Airways states that it now operates the largest fleets of Starlink-equipped Boeing 777, Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 aircraft in service.
