AAR Corp has expanded its airframe MRO facility at Miami International Airport, adding more than 100,000 sq ft of maintenance capacity.

The new facility will support three lines of heavy maintenance and has been constructed to meet capacity requirements for a long-term commercial airline customer. It is expected to induct its first aircraft this autumn.

The project was delivered in collaboration with Miami International Airport, Ryan Companies, HPM and federal, state and local partners.

The additional maintenance activity will create 200 full-time jobs at AAR Corp, with the company currently recruiting through its workforce development pipeline and initiatives with local educational institutions.

John M. Holmes, chairman, president and chief executive of AAR Corp, said: “The expansion of our airframe MRO facility in Miami reflects both the strength of our operations and the confidence customers place in AAR to deliver quality and reliability.

“We are excited to continue growing alongside our airline customers while enhancing our ability to meet their evolving maintenance needs.

“We appreciate the collaboration of Miami International Airport, our project partners, and government stakeholders whose support made this expansion possible.”

Congressman Mario Díaz-Balart said the investment would strengthen South Florida’s aviation sector while creating employment and economic opportunities for the region.

“With more than 1,300 AAR employees already across Florida, this expansion underscores the company’s ongoing commitment to our state and its workforce,” he said.

Miami-Dade County mayor Daniella Levine Cava added: “I proudly congratulate AAR for its commitment and investment in infrastructure and job creation at MIA, Miami-Dade County’s largest economic engine.

“As MIA continues to climb in global airport rankings, this facility will play an essential role in our long-term economic growth and success.”
