Lufthansa Technik has welcomed 287 new apprentices and dual students across its German operations for the 2026 training and academic year, as the MRO provider marks 70 years of vocational training.
All available positions for this year’s intake have been filled, with new recruits joining technical, logistics and commercial professions alongside dual study programmes.
Technical disciplines remain the primary focus, including aircraft and engine maintenance, electronics and production technology, complemented by training opportunities in logistics, IT and commercial roles.
Hamburg accounts for the majority of the intake, with 220 new trainees comprising 191 apprentices and 29 dual students. This includes eight apprentices at Lufthansa Technik Logistik Services and one at subsidiary Avionic Design.
Elsewhere, 26 trainees are joining operations in Frankfurt, while Lufthansa Technik Logistik Services has recruited two logistics apprentices in Munich.
Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey has welcomed 20 trainees, primarily focused on engine maintenance technology, alongside roles in office administration, IT and logistics.
A further 19 trainees are beginning their careers at N3 Engine Overhaul Services in Arnstadt, where training is centred largely on engine maintenance technology and logistics-related professions.

Lufthansa Technik began vocational training with 40 apprentices in Hamburg in 1956. Since then, thousands of people have completed training with the company, with programmes evolving alongside changes in aviation technology and maintenance requirements.
Applications have also opened for Lufthansa Technik’s 2027 intake across a range of apprenticeship and dual study programmes.
