Corendon Airlines has reported that since introducing PayPal in August it has become the preferred means of non-card payment.
Almost as soon as it was introduced, PayPal overtook other methods, including Apple and Google Pay. Wero, Blik, Bancontact and Przelewy 24. It now accounts for around half of all alternative payments made to the carrier.
The airline reports that integrating the new payment method into its systems was relatively straightforward, with the deployment being completed in around two months.
Commenting on the new payment integration, Erkan Erbay, CFO of Corendon Airlines, said: “The fact that 50% of our alternative payment transactions were made through PayPal within the first nine hours of launching the integration clearly demonstrates passenger demand for this option. Going forward, we will continue to use technology to make our passengers’ travel experience easier and provide them with reliable and flexible options that suit their individual budgets and payment habits.”
