Altitude25: Air France-KLM and Amadeus announce partnership to migrate to Nevio modern retailing platform
Air France-KLM has been confirmed as the latest airline to migrate to the Nevio modern retailing platform developed by Amadeus.
The leading European carrier will use Nevio as part of it’s broad transition from legacy retail technology and to bring it into the modern Order Offer airline IT world.
Announcing the deal this week at Amadeus’s Altitude25 conference in Lisbon, Angus Clarke Air France-KLM chief commercial officer said there was a strong business case for the move.
He said there are both cost and revenue benefits of using Nevio for the Order side of its business and “definitely in the offer side”.
Clarke told delegates that the airline sees Nevio as the most reliable system for its transition as it look to close down its traditional, decades old legacy PSS system.
“Amadeus has been a great partner for us and we have been sold on the benefits of Nevio as the most stable platform going forward.”
He added: “Our move to Modern Airline Retailing, is a key pillar in our commercial strategy, as reflected in our broad commitment to MOON program.
“With the power of the resulting next-generation retailing systems, we will elevate the customer experience.
“This will allow our customers to track the entirety of their travel in one, accessible order, receive more personalized offers that reflect their diverse needs, and do more self-servicing.
“I am confident that we will be able to deliver this vision in the years ahead in close collaboration with Amadeus, a long-running trusted technology partner.”
The Amadeus Air France-KLM partnership will see the adoption of the IATA ONE Order standards, designed to elevate the customer experience to meet the evolving needs of digital-savvy consumers.
This multi-year project will be orchestrated by the Air France-KLM MOON (Moving to Offer and Order Native) programme in close collaboration with Amadeus.
Decius Valmorbida, president of travel, Amadeus said “Amadeus Nevio has been specifically designed to offer exceptional flexibility, allowing AFKL to select the modules aligning with its unique needs, creating a perfect fit for their operations.
“The deal illustrates our ongoing commitment to supporting industry transformation and our dedication to actively driving this change. This is the future of customer-centric retailing.”
