ORIX Aviation has completed its acquisition of aviation aftermarket specialist AerFin following receipt of the required regulatory approvals.
AerFin is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of ORIX Aviation, bringing together the latter’s aircraft leasing, asset management and investment operations with AerFin’s aftermarket services and technical capabilities.
The acquisition expands ORIX Aviation’s offering across the aircraft lifecycle, combining traditional leasing and asset management activities with aircraft and engine trading, component sales, inventory solutions, repair management and engine MRO.
It also provides additional opportunities for aircraft part-out and aftermarket solutions as assets reach the later stages of their operational lives.
AerFin, which employs more than 230 people across facilities in the UK, Miami, Singapore and Dublin, has established a global customer base spanning airlines, lessors and MRO providers.
Simon Goodson, chief executive of AerFin, said: “Today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for AerFin. Joining ORIX Aviation gives us the long-term backing, global reach and shared ambition to accelerate our growth while remaining focused on what matters most: delivering trusted, flexible solutions for our customers.
"I am immensely proud of our people and everything they have achieved to bring us to this point. Together with ORIX Aviation, we are well placed to build a stronger, more capable business and create new opportunities across the aviation aftermarket.”
James Meyler, chief executive of ORIX Aviation, described the acquisition as an important milestone in the company's development.
“This is an important milestone for our business, bringing together complementary capabilities across the aircraft lifecycle and strengthening the services we can provide to our customers globally,” he said.
“AerFin has built an impressive platform, supported by an experienced team, deep technical expertise, and a strong global customer network.
“We look forward to building on these foundations together and creating long-term value for our customers, industry partners and investors, while supporting a more sustainable aviation industry through the reuse and optimisation of aircraft assets.”
Established in 1991, ORIX Aviation provides aircraft leasing and asset management services to Japanese and international investors and funds through its operating lease platform.
The company is part of ORIX Group, a multinational financial services organisation listed on the New York and Tokyo stock exchanges.
The completed acquisition broadens ORIX Aviation’s capabilities beyond aircraft ownership and leasing, strengthening its position in the aftermarket and providing customers with additional options for managing aircraft and engine assets throughout their lifecycles.
