IndiGo announces agreement with Amadeus for Revenue Management System upgrade
India’s largest airline, IndiGo, has announced an agreement with global travel technology and software solutions company, Amadeus, to implement its advanced Revenue Management technology, Amadeus Segment Revenue Management (SRM) Flex.
The SRM Flex application will gather data from Indigo’s Navitaire New Skies Passenger System (PSS), which is also owned by Amadeus, through its revenue management integration services (RMIS). In doing so, it will enable near real time data exchange capabilities, allowing IndiGo to respond quickly to market dynamics, new bookings or equipment changes.
Abhijit Dasgutpa, senior vice president of planning and revenue management at IndiGo, said it will allow IndiGo’s management team to, “have more granular steering controls, make quicker business decisions, drive greater automation and increase efficiency across the board.”
The interoperation of the Navitaire PSS and the new SRM Flex can also be integrated with external solutions that IndiGo plans to or already uses, and it will benefit from the intuitive and easy-to operate consolidated interface that this will provide.
Javier Laforgue, executive vice president of travel unit and managing director for Asia Pacific at Amadeus, said: “Together, we will help maximise the carrier’s revenue opportunities and create new efficiencies so IndiGo can focus on providing great service to its passengers. Amadeus’ Revenue Management technology is open, PSS agnostic, modular, and easy to use. It can also be seamlessly integrated with external solutions that IndiGo currently uses or plans to use.”
Laforgue also said the company is confident the new software will, “firmly place IndiGo on solid footing for the long term as it looks to grow in India and beyond.”
