AELS adds ex-Luxair 737-700 to teardown pipeline
Aircraft disassembly firm AELS has expanded its teardown portfolio with the acquisition of a Boeing 737-700 previously operated by Luxair, as part of its ongoing component recovery activities.
The company confirmed the deal in a LinkedIn post, stating that the aircraft (MSN 33802, registration LX-LGQ) has been inducted into its platform at Twente Airport in the Netherlands. Discussions around the transaction began in 2025 and have now concluded.
The company said the acquisition was completed in partnership with CFM Materials, which acted as a strategic partner on the deal.
Under the agreement, CFM Materials purchased the aircraft’s engines, while AELS took ownership of the airframe.
According to AELS, dismantling activity has already commenced at Twente, with the company recovering serviceable components for reintroduction into the aviation supply chain.
The company said the effort supports broader industry moves towards circular aviation, extending the usable life of parts and reducing waste.
