UK-based independent business advisory firm FRP Corporate Finance has assisted Aero Engine Services to secure a seven-figure finance package to support its next stage of growth.

The Welsh aircraft engine specialist provides aftermarket aircraft components and technical consultancy services to the commercial aerospace sector, specialising in the supply of refurbished and repaired engine parts.

Its 12-strong team supports a worldwide client base that includes Aer Lingus, Brussels Airlines and Lufthansa, helping to maintain fleets, save on repair costs, extend the life of engines and reduce engine downtime.

FRP Corporate Finance was appointed to help Aero Engine Services explore different funding options to support the business’s continued expansion.

The team, led by Cardiff-based director Sinead Johnson, worked closely with Aero Engine Services’ management team to model various debt options, identify the most cost effective and appropriate solution for the business, and optimise its approach to lenders, ultimately securing a seven-figure funding package that included asset-based lending and trade finance.

The new funding provided by Donagh Kenney at HSBC, Cardiff, will allow Aero Engine Services to accelerate its growth trajectory by providing funding to acquire whole engines to tear down and refurbish, alongside its existing parts and consultancy business. It is expected that this will accelerate the firm’s ability to access relevant parts to meet its client’s requirements.

Sinead Johnson, director at FRP Corporate Finance, said: “Aero Engine Services has built a strong reputation for its quality of service not just here in Wales, but across the international markets it operates in.

“This new financing means it can now expand even further and faster, through a package that’s tailored to its business. We wish its team every success as they embark on this exciting new stage.”

Samuel Evans, chief financial officer at Aero Engine Services, added: “This new financing means we’ll be able to have access to a wider range of parts to meet our clients ongoing needs which helps them achieve improved sustainability by extending an engines operational life – in turn growing the business and continuing to expand our team here in Cardiff.

“I’m grateful to Sinead and the team at FRP Corporate Finance for their support on this transaction. Their guidance allowed us to identify options that we hadn’t previously considered and secure a solution that was just right for us.”
