HAECO Landing Gear Services will continue providing landing gear exchange and overhaul support for Cathay's Boeing 777-300ER fleet, extending a maintenance partnership that has delivered more than 200 landing gear sets since 2010.
The continued agreement covers one of Cathay's principal long-haul aircraft types, with overhaul and exchange services supporting fleet reliability and operational performance.
The latest arrangement builds on a relationship that began in 2010, when HAECO Landing Gear Services completed its first Boeing 747 landing gear overhaul for Cathay at its facility in Xiamen, China.
Since then, the scope of the programme has expanded to include landing gear support for the Boeing 747-400, 747-400ERF, 777-300 and 777-300ER.
More than 200 landing gear deliveries have been completed under the partnership, reflecting the scale of the maintenance relationship between the two companies.
Gerald Steinhoff, chief commercial officer at HAECO Group, said: “This landing gear overhaul programme reflects the confidence built through consistent performance and close collaboration, as well as our shared commitment to safety and operational excellence.”
Keith Brown, director engineering at Cathay, highlighted the importance of maintaining dependable landing gear support for the airline's operations.
“This agreement provides important overhaul and exchange support while maintaining the high standards of safety, quality and operational performance that our operation depends on,” he said.
The landing gear programme forms part of a broader relationship between HAECO and Cathay dating back to 1950, with the latest agreement continuing their collaboration on widebody aircraft maintenance.
