Embraer has completed a 10-month artificial intelligence (AI) and data integration project with Aquarela Analytics aimed at strengthening supply chain integration and improving predictability across its production operations.
The programme involved the detailed evaluation of more than two terabytes of operational data and combined Embraer’s Agile methodology with Aquarela’s Data Culture Methodology.
The work was delivered in two main phases, covering the structuring of frameworks for data extraction, preparation and AI model development through to advanced visualisation layers.
The outcome of the project is the deployment of Smart Planning – a new data-driven tool designed to support real-time decision-making across Embraer’s materials and production planning functions.
Dimas Tomelin, vice president of strategy, digital and innovation at Embraer, said: “Smart Planning is the most up-to-date data tool developed and integrated to make Embraer’s processes more effective.
“It consists of an interactive control panel on the materials used in the production process of our aircraft, helping the planning team in the management of purchases and stock levels to have more predictability in case of lack or excess of materials thanks to the use of artificial intelligence and a prediction model.”
According to the partners, the platform enhances visibility across supply chain operations, enabling Embraer to respond more effectively to fluctuations in material availability while reducing the risks of shortages and overstocking.
Marcos Santos, chief executive officer of Aquarela Analytics, said: “Throughout the process, we applied all of our expertise in data analysis, platforms, and AI algorithms to improve, transform, and integrate Embraer’s operating system.
“It was a challenging project, where at each stage we deepened and broadened the scope as complexity and results were measured. We are very happy with the result and especially with the partnership established with Embraer.”
Beyond immediate gains in inventory planning, the Smart Planning initiative is also seen as a foundation for Embraer’s future digital supply chain strategy.
Embraer expects further benefits from deeper data integration, including improved operational efficiency, cost reduction, enhanced quality control and stronger collaboration with suppliers and partners.
