Lufthansa Technik Philippines will continue providing base maintenance for Emirates’ Airbus A380 fleet through 2030 after the companies extended their long-standing partnership.
Under a new multi-year contract, the Manila-based business, Lufthansa Technik’s competence centre for widebody base maintenance in Asia, will perform heavy checks on the airline’s A380 aircraft.
The programme is already underway at Lufthansa Technik Philippines’ existing Manila facility, where two dedicated base maintenance lines have been assigned to Emirates.
Emirates will also become the launch customer for Lufthansa Technik Philippines’ new facility at Clark International Airport when operations begin.
The agreement is one of the largest by value in Lufthansa Technik Philippines’ history and extends a relationship that has seen the MRO provider support Emirates’ A380 heavy maintenance requirements since 2023.
More than 30 A380 checks have been completed for Emirates by Lufthansa Technik Philippines to date.
Emirates is the world’s largest operator of the Airbus A380.
