Aircraft seating solutions company Recaro has appointed Andreas Erber as its new chief technology officer and member of the executive board, effective September 2026.

Erber holds a degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Stuttgart and began his career at a carbon fibre specialist, where he spent almost a decade in a series of leadership positions, including head of thermoplastic composites, director of the lightweight and application centre, and vice president aerospace.

Most recently, he served as managing director at an automotive and aerospace supplier, focusing on aviation, engineering and advanced composite technologies.

Erber said: “Recaro is renowned in aviation. It combines a distinctive brand with leading OEM expertise, delivering a tangible and positive impact on the passenger experience. I look forward to working with our expert R&D team to further drive the company’s success.”

Erber joins the executive team as Recaro continues to invest in research and development, product innovation and lightweight seating technologies, supported by a strong order backlog and plans to expand its position across both economy and business class seating markets.
