Global aviation logistics specialist Menzies Aviation has renewed and expanded its ground-handling contract in Northern Europe with Dubai-based carrier Emirates.
Menzies Aviation has been awarded a five-year contract to provide Emirates with ground-handling services at Oslo Airport, Stockholm Arlanda Airport and now at Copenhagen Airport, a new base within this partnership. Across all three stations Menzies Aviation professionals will service daily Emirates flights.
Commenting on the new contract, VP of Northern Europe at Menzies Aviation Thomas Hoff Andersson said: “We’re thrilled to have been chosen again as Emirates’ preferred ground-handling partner, and in particular are proud that our contract has not only been renewed but extended to incorporate Copenhagen Airport. This has only been possible through the hard work and exceptional standards of our team on the ground, who have cultivated a deep understanding of Emirates’ service needs. We look forward to strengthening our relationship further with Emirates through the delivery of best-in-class services.”
Earlier this month, Menzies was awarded a five-year ground-handling contract by Wizz Air, Europe’s fastest-growing airline, at its recently launched Oslo Gardermoen Airport base. Menzies Aviation will provide a full suite of ground-handling services to the low-cost airline to support the smooth operation of its domestic flights. When flight volumes at the airport recover it is expected that this contract will represent 5,000 turnarounds a year, as Wizz Air looks to grow its presence in the Norwegian market.
Menzies Aviation is a leading global provider of passenger, ramp and cargo services. Menzies Aviation operates at more than 200 airports in 34 countries. The company handles 1.2 million aircraft turns per year, 1.5 million tonnes of cargo and fuels 3.6 million turnarounds.
