ERAA Gen. Assembly: Rungholm re-elected ERAA President
Jesper Rungholm

The European Regions Airline Association (ERAA) has announced the results of its 2026 Board elections, bringing together new and returning members to continue steering the association’s work on behalf of Europe’s regional aviation sector.

Held during the ERAA General Assembly in Belfast, members elected 11 representatives to serve on the Board for the next three years.

This year’s elections also saw Jesper Rungholm re-elected as President, alongside Maarten Koopmans and Mikael Wångdahl as Vice-Presidents. Their re-election reflects the Board’s continued confidence in their leadership and contribution to the association.

Together, the ERAA Board and leadership help guide ERAA’s strategic priorities across advocacy, connectivity, sustainability and resilience, representing the interests of its members and ensuring regional aviation remains firmly represented in discussions with European regulators and stakeholders.

Jesper Rungholm, ERAA President, said: “I am honoured to be re-elected as President of ERAA for another three years. Working with Montserrat Barriga, the Board and the ERAA team has been exciting and worthwhile over the last three years, so it is with a smile that I look forward to the next term. We have several important issues ongoing, and especially for me is the opportunity to reignite the process of removing the unfair and discriminatory regulation requiring pilots to retire at 65.“

I have the privilege of working closely with our Board, and I know how valuable their experience, commitment and perspective are to the work we do as an association. I am really looking forward to working together on the strategy and priorities we have set for the coming years and continuing to support our members, strengthen regional connectivity and make sure regional aviation has a strong and distinct voice in Europe.”
