Emirates SkyCargo has launched a dedicated air cargo product designed to support the transportation of critical AI infrastructure, including server racks, semiconductors, GPUs and other high-value technology equipment.
The new offering, AI Tech, combines priority loading, specialised handling and proactive shipment monitoring to help customers meet increasingly demanding infrastructure deployment schedules.
Developed in response to growing demand for AI-related logistics, Emirates SkyCargo said the product provides globally standardised handling procedures, enhanced shipment visibility and customer coordination throughout the transportation process.
Shipments are monitored through Emirates SkyCargo’s command centre in Dubai, with airport-to-airport milestone updates and specialist project cargo support available for oversized and heavy equipment.
Badr Abbas, divisional senior vice president of Emirates SkyCargo, said: “Behind every AI breakthrough is physical infrastructure that needs to arrive safely and on time.
“AI Tech is designed to give customers confidence that their critical equipment will move seamlessly across our network, supported by operational oversight and proactive communication.
“In July alone, we transported more than 700 tonnes of AI infrastructure across our global network, and demand has continued to grow.”
The airline said the new product draws on its experience transporting AI-related hardware between manufacturing centres and major technology markets.
Available across Emirates SkyCargo’s global network, AI Tech accommodates most AI-related cargo, including chips, semiconductors and server racks. More specialised manufacturing equipment is subject to advance station capability assessments to ensure safe handling.
The service is supported by the airline’s dedicated freighter fleet and widebody passenger aircraft capacity.
By March 2027, Emirates SkyCargo expects to operate 23 dedicated freighters, providing additional maindeck capacity for transporting large and dense server racks, some weighing more than 3.5 tonnes.
The launch reflects the airline’s efforts to capture a greater share of the growing market for AI infrastructure logistics, where high equipment values, tight delivery schedules and specialised handling requirements are placing increasing demands on air cargo operators.
