Avion Express Brasil, a member of the Avia Solutions Group and subsidiary of Avion Express, has secured its Air Operators Certificate (AOC) from Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), marking the launch of the country’s first aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance (ACMI) operator.

Now that it is certified, the airline hopes to begin commercial operations in Q1 2025, deploying up to 10 Airbus A320 family aircraft to its fleet by the end of the year.

Furthermore, the airline has plans to scale its fleet further, up to 25 aircraft by 2027 or 2028, in response to the increasing demand of travel and efficient capacity solutions in Latin America.

“Avion Express Brasil AOC represents a significant step forward for ACMI solutions, as it opens up a new market and introduces innovative solutions for capacity management to airlines,” said Darius Kajokas, chief executive of Avion Express.

Kajokas added: “With the aviation industry experiencing cyclical demand shifts, our ACMI solutions will provide to Brazilian airlines the flexibility they need to optimise their operations.

“We are confident that our services will help bridge capacity gaps while maintaining the highest standards of efficiency and reliability.”

According to Esteban Jauregui Lorda, chief executive of Avion Express Brasil, ACMI solutions are designed to deal with seasonal demands and fluctuations by, “allowing airlines to add or remove aircraft from their fleets as needed, providing the flexibility to adapt to market fluctuations and seasonality.”

Currently, Avion Express has an existing partnership with Mexico, and more recently in Argentina with its new operations, but as one of the largest aviation markets in the Latin American region, Brazil is a strategic choice for future growth.

Jauregui Lorda continued: “Looking ahead to 2025, Brazil’s tourism and aviation sectors are expected to keep growing… With our AOC secured, we are poised to provide Brazilian airlines with reliable and cost-effective capacity solutions, helping them manage both peak demand and market shifts seamlessly.”
