BermudAir welcomes its first Bermudian-licensed pilot
Bermuda’s flagship airline, BermudAir, has announced that Tariq Lynch-Wade, its former head of safety, has become the airline’s first Bermudian-licensed pilot.
Lynch-Wade’s addition to the BermudAir pilot team marks a milestone for the company, affirming its commitment to developing local talent, and strengthening Bermuda’s presence in the global aviation industry.
Lynch-Wade navigated his first commercial flight on March 24, 2025, onboard BermudAir’s 2T551/552 non-stop Bermuda to Baltimore service.
In 2003, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Aviation and Airway Management and Operations from Jacksonville University, Florida in the US, and then completed flight training at the Delta Connection Academy.
Since 2010, Lynch-Wade spent the next 14 years of his career at the Bermuda Civil Aviation Authority (BCAA) where he became director of operations, before joining BermudAir in 2024.
As a founding member of Aviators Alliance Bermuda, Lynch-Wade has also led community outreach initiatives, including a career presentation at Bermuda College earlier in March where Bermudian pilots share their experiences, in an effort to inspire aspiring aviation professionals.
“Tariq’s journey is an inspiration, and we are incredibly proud to welcome him to our flight deck,” said Adam Scott, founder and chief executive of BermudAir. “From his leadership in aviation safety to his passion for mentoring future pilots, Tariq’s transition into a full-time pilot role is not just a personal achievement, but a historic moment for our airline and Bermuda’s aviation community.”
