Distance learning provider for the airline and aviation industry, CPaT Global, has announced a new contract with Lao Airlines that will provide it with new cabin crew and pilot training, as well as aircraft system courses.

For pilot training, CPaT will deliver its aircraft systems courses and full aircraft procedure suite across Lao Airlines’ fleet of the Airbus A320En, ATR 72-500, and ATR 72-600. The aircraft system for cabin crew will also be implemented for its Airbus A320, ATR 72-500, and ATR 72-600 aircraft, along with the 3D Cabin trainer.

Lao’s flag carrier airline was originally known as the Civil Aviation Company, and is a fully state-owned operation, which is slowly growing its size and international reach in travel. It was formed after the Civil Aviation Company merged with Laos’ two major airlines, Royal Air Lao and Lao Air Lines.

Captain Greg Darrow, vice president of sales at CPaT, said: “By delivering in-depth Aircraft Systems and Procedures training, along with immersive tools like our 3D Cabin Trainer, we are equipping their pilots and cabin crew across a variety of fleets with the knowledge and skills needed to operate safely and effectively.”

Lao Airlines says it has plans to begin new routes within the association of southeast Asian countries (ASEAN) and to Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Bangkok, as well as to Laos’ Bokeo province domestically. The new partnership with CPaT is expected to support its growth in the aviation industry.
