Following a public tender conducted by Zurich Airport (ZHR) in Switzerland, global air and travel services provider, dnata, has once again secured the license to provide its ground handling services for the next seven years.
Dnata currently services 40 passenger and cargo airlines in Zurich, employing a team of over 500 people, and handling more than 35 aircraft turnarounds and 150 tonnes of cargo daily.
The company also recently invested in a digital cargo management system at the airport, One Cargo, which uses an integrated, cloud-based platform to automate key business and operational functions, including safety and quality monitoring and reporting, and ULD management.
Additionally, dnata invested in advanced ground support equipment (GSE), which has increased the share of electric vehicles in its fleet to 42%, and having recently announced that it would boost its cargo handling capacity by over 50% at ZRH, it signed a lease agreement with the airport authority and is planning to operate its new 9,500 sqm advanced warehouse facility as the sole occupant. The facility is already under construction and is expected to open in early 2027.
The continued partnership is a sign of the strengthening relationship between Zurich Airport and dnata, an ideal environment to carry out their plans for growth and improvement in the coming years.
Willy Ruf, dnata Switzerland’s managing director, said: “We are proud to have earned the trust of Zurich Airport once again. The renewal of our license is a clear vote of confidence in our team, highlighting our reliability and commitment to service excellence. We will continue to invest in our people, infrastructure and equipment to deliver best-in-class services to our customers.”
