The airframer reported steady delivery momentum across key single-aisle programmes despite a complex geopolitical and operating environment.
Single-aisle aircraft represented the vast majority of Airbus' commercial output up to 30 September 2026.
Out of 547 total commercial aircraft delivered (up from 507 in the first nine months of 2025), deliveries were heavily concentrated in narrowbody models essential for short-to-medium haul routes:
- A320 Family: 428 aircraft delivered.
- A220: 68 aircraft delivered.
Strong order intake pushed gross commercial orders to 1,174 aircraft (up from 610 in 9m 2025), yielding 1,105 net orders after cancellations.
Airbus' total commercial order backlog stood at 9,310 aircraft at the end of September 2026.
For regional operators and low-cost carriers relying on predictable aircraft delivery slots, Airbus reaffirmed its core production rate targets:
- A220 Programme: The production ramp-up is progressing towards a targeted monthly rate of 13 aircraft in 2028.
- A320 Family: Monthly production is projected to reach between 70 and 75 aircraft by the end of 2027, stabilizing at rate 75 thereafter.
Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury said, "Against a complex geopolitical and operating environment, we are focused on delivery while maintaining a steadfast focus on quality".
Across the company, commercial aircraft activities generated €36.7 billion in revenue, an 8% increase year-on-year, reflecting higher delivery volumes and increased services. Consolidated group revenues rose 7% to €50.6 billion.
Underlying margins also expanded, with consolidated Earnings Before Income Tax (EBIT) Adjusted rising to €4,495 million (compared to €4,146 million in 9m 2025).
Commercial aircraft activities contributed €3,362 million to EBIT Adjusted, supported by higher deliveries despite higher R&D expenses and a less favorable hedge rate. Consolidated net income reached €3,587 million.
Free cash flow before customer financing was €-1,268 million, reflecting inventory build-up linked to the back-end loaded delivery profile and planned production ramp-ups across divisions.
Airbus maintained its full-year 2026 guidance, assuming no additional disruptions to global trade, air traffic, or the supply chain.
Targets for 2026 include:
- Commercial Aircraft Deliveries: Around 870 aircraft.
- EBIT Adjusted: Around €7.5 billion.
- Free Cash Flow before Customer Financing: Around €4.5 billion.
