Canadian low-cost carrier Flair Airlines has signed a 15-year agreement with Lufthansa Technik covering LEAP-1B engine maintenance and digital technical operations services for its Boeing 737 MAX 8 fleet.
The exclusive agreement covers 18 MAX 8 aircraft and makes Flair Airlines the second major customer secured for Lufthansa Technik Canada’s new engine repair operation in Calgary.
Engine services will primarily be carried out in Calgary, supported by Lufthansa Technik’s wider network in Hamburg, Germany, and Wrocław, Poland.
The agreement also significantly expands the digital element of the two companies’ relationship. Flair Airlines will use AVIATAR Condition Monitoring, Predictive Health Analytics and the Engineering Analytics Suite as part of Lufthansa Technik’s Digital Tech Ops Ecosystem.
These will sit alongside the airline’s existing use of the AMOS electronic Technical Logbook and flydocs digital records and asset management services, giving Flair Airlines access to maintenance and operational data across a broader part of its technical operations.

The contract represents an important early commitment for Lufthansa Technik’s Calgary operation, which was first announced in February 2025. More than 80 employees are now working at an interim facility while construction progresses on the permanent engine maintenance site at Calgary Airport.
Lufthansa Technik said the new facility is expected to handle more than 100 maintenance events for Flair Airlines over the course of the agreement. Plans also include what the company says will be Canada’s first test cell for next-generation aircraft engines.

The latest agreement builds on a relationship dating back to 2019, when Lufthansa Technik began providing Total Component Support for Flair Airlines’ fleet. The airline has also used Cyclean Engine Wash and Mobile Engine Services for its LEAP-1B and CFM56-7B engines.
