Lufthansa Technik has signed a long-term agreement to provide component support for Uzbekistan Airways’ Boeing 787 Dreamliner and Airbus A320ceo/neo fleets through 2035.
Under the agreement, Lufthansa Technik will provide component pool support and supply services, giving the airline access to spare parts to support aircraft availability and operational reliability across its network.
The deal extends a relationship between the two companies that dates back to 1993, when Uzbekistan Airways introduced its first Airbus A310-300.
Shukhrat Khudaykulov, chairman of the board of Uzbekistan Airways, said: “Over the past three decades, Lufthansa Technik has proven to be a reliable and trusted partner for Uzbekistan Airways.
“As demand for air travel continues to grow and Uzbekistan further expands its role as an aviation hub in Central Asia, this agreement provides important support for our fleet modernisation and expansion plans.”
Uzbekistan Airways is pursuing a fleet renewal and growth strategy, investing in more fuel-efficient aircraft as it seeks to expand connectivity between Central Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
