Avianca Cargo launches freighter operation between Bogotá and Caracas
Colombian freight carrier Avianca Cargo has launched a weekly freighter operation between Bogotá and Caracas, further reinforcing its commitment to connectivity and the development of trade between Colombia and Venezuela.
The route, which began on March 7, 2026, will operate with an Airbus A330 Freighter, offering a payload capacity of 60 tonnes per flight.
This service is complemented by Avianca’s passenger operation on the route using narrowbody aircraft, which provides an additional weekly cargo capacity of seven tonnes.
Diogo Elías, chief executive of Avianca Cargo, said: “With this new freighter operation between Colombia and Venezuela, Avianca Cargo is strengthening logistics flows between the two countries and expanding air cargo transport options across the region.
“The first direct operation between Bogotá and Caracas will operate with a weekly frequency, with plans to gradually increase capacity in line with market demand.”
