FIA 2026: Boeing secures Philippine Airlines commitment for up to 20 Dreamliners
Philippine Airlines (PAL) has committed to order up to 20 Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners, marking a significant step in the airline’s long-haul fleet renewal and expansion strategy.
Announced at this year’s Farnborough International Airshow, the agreement covers 15 firm 787-10 aircraft with options for a further five, supporting the flag carrier’s plans to modernise its widebody fleet while increasing capacity on medium- and long-haul routes.
The new aircraft is said to complement PAL’s existing fleet of 10 Boeing 777s, providing greater operational flexibility across its international network.
Boeing said the 787-10 offers the lowest operating cost per seat of any widebody aircraft, with fuel consumption around 25% lower than the aircraft it typically replaces.

The 787-10 is capable of carrying between 300 and 375 passengers over distances of up to 13,890km. The aircraft also features larger dimmable windows, higher cabin humidity and turbulence-reducing technology designed to improve passenger comfort.
