Engineering and maintenance provider HAECO has opened Engine Workshop No. 5 at its Hong Kong maintenance base, expanding its engine maintenance capacity and strengthening support for customers across the Asia-Pacific region.

The new facility adds three dedicated engine maintenance bays, increasing HAECO’s total engine bay capacity in Hong Kong from six to nine.

The workshop will support advanced engine maintenance services, including Trent XWB module swaps and LEAP engine support, helping the company meet growing demand for next-generation engine maintenance.

Corné van Rooij, general manager of HAECO Global Engine Support, said: “Engine Workshop No. 5 represents a significant investment in HAECO Global Engine Support’s future growth in Hong Kong.

“The expanded capacity strengthens our global engine support network and enhances our ability to deliver flexible, efficient and high-quality maintenance solutions to customers across Asia-Pacific, including the Chinese Mainland and beyond.”

The facility is part of HAECO‘s ‘front porch to full house’ strategy, which aims to broaden the range of engine support services available from its Hong Kong base and provide maintenance closer to customers’ operations.

HAECO said the workshop has been designed to accommodate increasing demand for new-generation engines and more complex maintenance requirements, while also supporting workforce development through training on advanced engine platforms.
