Crete-based Sky Express has been named as Airline of the Year at the ERA Airline Awards held in Estoril this week.

Presenting the award, ATR’s Alexis Vidal praised the airline’s ‘financial strength and increased capacity delivered by an enhanced fleet’ as well as commitment to internal team building and external community initiatives in Greece.

The carrier also won the Regional Connectivity Airline Award.

Other winners  at the event, held in the opulent surroundings of Casino Estoril, include France-based Amelia, which received the Sustainable Airline Award 2025 for its use of sustainable aviation fuel and innovative contrail reduction trials, while Air Nostrum earned the Innovation Airline Award 2025 for its AI-driven maintenance technology and digital transformation efforts. The People and Culture Airline Award 2025 went to Norra, celebrating its employee-first approach and the launch of the Norra Academy to support talent development and training in the Nordic region.
